A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“Arrived too early for checkin but staff warmly offered to store our luggage until our room was ready. When we checked in later, the process was fast and efficient. Our room was a very nice size and nicely designed and furnished. The evening hors d’ouerves and the buffet breakfast in the 23rd floor lounge were very nice and staff did a great job replenishing food items and cleaning tables as guests departed. My MAJOR complaint was over parking. The hotel recommends a particular iPark facility 3 blocks away. We arrived to find the garage completely full. The attendant recommended we drive around the block until a spot opened. That took an hour but ultimately got us parked. At checkout, the front desk clerk told us he validated our parking ticket in the computer and he told us the discounted rate we would pay when we picked up our car. However, at the garage and we received an undiscounted invoice. We objected and told the parking attendant our hotel validated the ticket and promised a 24 hour rate of $x. The clero was dismissive and said “i can only to by what the computer tells me.” I immediately called the front desk at the hotel. The woman there said she would speak to the manager and call me back. NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. For me, this was unacceptable and I will never stay at this hotel in the future. Personally, I think rooms, service and parking at the Distrikt Hotel (Hilton Tapestry Collection) on W. 40th Street are far superior and strongly recommend that hotel over the West House.”
“We had a pleasant stay at the elegant WestHouse hotel - the architecture was boutique, living up to the SLH brand. The staff was attentive and friendly. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a suite and the room was very spacious. For NYC, it might’ve been bigger than most apartments here. For the location, the room was quiet - no street noise was heard. 2 water cans were provided. The fitness center was well-equipped. We also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner amenities on the 23rd Floor. The food spread and quality were nice. The location couldn’t have been more ideal being in heart of Midtown. We had the perfect NYC itinerary, just short walks away to Central Park, Times Square, and Broadway. A few minor cons: 1. Lighting in the room was quite dim 2. No fan in the bathroom 3. Bathroom products were from Further - but I wish more luxury brands were used instead for a hotel of this caliber, like Byredo or Le Labo. 4. While I was not charged a resort fee due to this being an award stay, I think it would’ve been better the $55 fee was given as a tiered option, (for example, $25 automatically charged for using amenities and $30 add-on for food), especially since NYC had so many good food options.”
